  1. I attempted to play a Divx I burned on a CD but I got very choppy video signals. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of this problem?

    BTW, my computer's specs:
    16x DVD-Rom with DMA enabled
    1.6 Ghz
    128 Mb DDR
    Geforce 2 MX 64 Mb

If I copy the divx file to my hard drive, it'll play fine. Thanks.

  2. The bit rate of the file?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

Your CD drive is too slow, it can't keep up. Your HDD is MUCH faster, that's why it plays ok.

  4. Thanks for your response. I thought my DVD-Rom was slow, too.

Does anybody here succeed in playing Divx movies from a CD-Rom? If so, what is the speed of your CD-ROM drive?

I haven't tried it in a long time but if I remember correctly my cd drive would play divx that was on one disc because the bitrate was low. If it was a 2 cd divx then it was choppy. It is a 32x
