Hi, i just purchased a New BenQ 24" monitor for my father and when i went to plug it into his computer i noticed that the connection on the monitor say's DVI-D but the connection on the PC's video card is just DVI. It's one of the older Radeon 9200 series video cards. (about 2004).
Both of the connections are white in color but they do look slightly different when looking at the pins inside.
Is it OK to connect these together and would there be any kind of video conflict?
    Thanks.

DVI-I has both analog and digital connections. DVI-D is digital only. This Wikipedia article may explain it a bit better as DVI has quite a few variations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

It should work fine. Make sure you use the latest ATI driver and match the monitor's native resolution.
