Hello, I have contacted Nero about this issue explained below, they had me reinstall the program to no avail.

Maybe the program just cant do what im looking for, but what I'm trying to do is so simple.

All i'm doing is taking 2 hours of DVD-Video finalized from set top dvd recorder. It is tv program that has ads in it. I am trying to just edit out all the commercials......which I can do with Nero 8 , import the video files from ripped hard drive file. I get 4 video files to import into the editor. Each file, i put in storyboard and use the cut options to remove ads from cells with ads and my program. Then I just delete the cells which are all ads.

My problem occurrs, when i burn the program to hard drive as one unedited project. When I play back the project, all ads are gone as I edited them however, where ever there was a storyboard break, there is a slight pause in the playback of sound and motion. I have gone back to the project, and checked the storyboard breaks and am 100 pct. sure the glithces are happening exactly at those. I have reburned projects several times with same issue. So, just to clarify the glitch, about every minute or so, there is this one second pause and loss of sound. It is like someone is hitting the pause during playback and immediately hitting it again.

Am I using the wrong program for this? I have tried Roxio and Nero 10 but they are too difficult for me to edit with and bog down my system. Any other program or programs that would do this task for me? I would love to just drag and hilight the video i want to delete, delete and then have a seamless playback without ads...... Any advice is much apprecited, whether it is for Nero 8 or what other program I should use that is simple for what i want to do.

    thanks!!

Sony Movie Studio has a nice linear editor, as well as other nice features. If you have a windows PC XP or above you might try using windows movie maker.

Hello and thanks for advice. I have tried Windows movie maker but it doesnt import in DVD-R video or any dvd format of any kind (unless there are updated versions) ? I will check out the Sony program.

NOTE: I'm also recording the original video with a Panasonic DVD-R set top unit from circa 2005. I read on mpg2cut2 site that his program had problems with some of that formatted dvd video, but I'm going to try that program also.

I'll admit I never tried to import dvd video into wimdows movie maker, however I have imported vob files into Sony Movie Studio. Might I add Sony Movie Studio has a precise cutting mechanism.

.VOB's are Mpeg2, you can use so many free programs on that. One that I like is Solveig MM Splitter, Google it, it's free.

What is "DVD-R" video? I thought DVD-R was a recordable disc.
