i'm looking to get a new hard drive, primarily for video capturing, with the intention of fitting it into one of those firewire drive cases.
anybody got any links to decent drives? preferably as fast as possible as they'll be for capturing...
thanks!

Can't recommend a particular drive, but I've had good experiences with www.dabs.com
There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Personally I use ebuyer in Sheffield, they're great and are no hassle with returns.

firewire drive normally very expensive
A place that i use is www.ebuyer.com make sure you know what you want as the after sales service is abysmal, but the prices are good. They are also selling an ide to usb2 converter so you can take a normal internal drive and connect it with this plug to an usb port. Only £20 ish.
I fancy making my own little wooden "coffin" for a hard drive!Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -
I would recommend you visit a local computer fair, especially as there is no vat on the price. So you can get a hard drive dirt cheap.
