I'm usually pretty decent at the Google, but surprise surprise, it's impossible to find any how-to guides on DRM that aren't about removing DRM.

How does one do this? Is it possible for the common man to create a FairPlay file, or can only Apple create a FairPlay file? Is this functionality available in ffmpeg?

I'm not trying to be evil here -- I have to provide video files that include content with contractual distribution limitations, so the files must expire after seven days. Any advice?

    You are kidding alright.

Seriously, DRM technology is a thing for the "big dogs" ---
--- I mean, proprietary know-how, TONS of legalese stuff, etc etc etc.

Hmmm. Thanks for the disappointing-but-not-unexpected answer.

How about this? Is there an easy way just to make a file expire and become unplayable? Not really interested in copy protection, etc.
