    Hello.
So I have 2 WMV files and I want to add DRM protection to them.
And when someone tries to view one of them, he gets the popup window with the web page where he must leave his email address and then he gets his license.
I have seen such files and I'm sure it's possible to do.
But I have no idea how to add DRM to my files.
I've googled and found some software, but it costs $1200. To much to encrypt 2 files.
Then I found this list here:

The main DRM components/milestones of this project were:
    • 1. Obtain the Windows Media DRM SDK from Microsoft, starting at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/ forpros/drm/sdksandversions.aspx
    • 2. Add DRM protection to the WMV files (another batch process)
    • 3. Design the license procurement / renewal system
    • 4. Set up the license server and create the ASP pages to handle license requests
    • 5. Program the client to contact the server for license acquisition
But I got stuck on the first step.
So. The question is. Could someone give me the link to some manual for newbies? Something like "How to add DRM for dummies". Or does anyone knows some free or cheap software which could do it?

    Thanks for your help.

Perhaps this link will be more helpful:

    If not, try this one:

Frankly, your wmv files would need to be very spectacular and completely unique if you expect people to leave their e-mail address and get a license. IMO it's a waste of time.

There are ways to record DRMed WMV files. There are also ways (sometimes, but not always) to remove DRM from WMV files.

If your files are so important that you must protect them, maybe they are too import to share with others. I also think this is a waste of time and possibly money to set this up.
