  1. I am wanting to back my DVD collection (Movies and TV Shows) up to external HDs and have that streamed to my Xbox360 (Playon or Tversty, ECT). I have been ripping my DVDs with DVDShrink or WinX. But when streaming them to my TV now i can noticeable see a quality issue when streaming. I have ripped them as VOB, AVI, MKV and MP4 without much difference in quality.

What can i do to make the quality better when streaming? I have tried several different rippers in hopes that it was the problem, but no luck. The xbox is wired to the network.

Is there a better way to stream them to my xbox360 than Playon or Tversity?

What am i doing wrong? Any suggestions on another way to do this or even a better way to do this would be great! Any better programs that would work better to replace any of those i use would be great to!

I have alot of movies and tv shows Ive bought and i would love to stream them. If needed i can rip them again since i haven't gotten to many done yet but would love to find a solution to this problem.

If any other details are needed just let me know!

If you rip to VOB or use VOB2MPG to get you files then there is no quality drop due to conversion, although why you are ripping with very old (DVD Shrink) or crap (WinX) rippers is beyond me. DVD Fab Decrypter (free) or AnyDVD (not free) are better options.

What sort of quality issues are you seeing ? If the video is being streamed without transcoding then it will be identical through to the xbox.

There are other options to try, but a better description of the problems you are perceiving with the current arrange would be a better place to start.

  3. The problem is that the picture is pretty blurry and playback seems jerky at some parts. I'm going to download DVD Fab and AnyDVD and give it a try.

i'm not sure if Playon transcodes.

What are the other options and do they work better?
