I have DVD player that play both files, DVD(MPEG2) and DivX.I usually convert my video materials from my DV camera from AVI to MPEG2 (with Sony Vegas and DVD Architect) and put the video on DVD disc with high bitrates 8000Kbs.
Now I want to convert same material in DivX format and compare the video quality.Maybe I'm wrong but I thing that DivX file will be better in quality. My question is:
How can I convert my AVI file to Divx? What DivX codec I should use, what is the highest resolution and highest bitrates when converting to DivX and finaly what is the best program for DivX produce.
    Regards.

H264 is much better than Divx, but neither are better than your original.
