Hi! Im about to order a Pioneer BD-R writer and would like to start authoring Blu Ray,
Ive been using DVD Lab Pro for DVDs for a while now, is there something similar?
Also I will be using MPEG 2 format for the Blu Rays, since I have some series I would
like to transfer from DVD to Blu Ray. Thanks!

TMPGEnc Authoring Works does MPEG2 Blu-ray. What's your budget for new software?

Years ago I used DVD Lab Pro too. It's very good for DVD authoring. But now I use Sony DVD Archidect 5.0 for my Blu Ray authoring. It is bundeled with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 : http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro

Hi I see that "TMPGEnc Authoring Works" reencodes the MPG2, is there any other program that does not re-renders
    the MPG2's when authoring?

    thanks

Not much. You could investigate some of our BD authoring programs. Maybe multiAVCHD for BD if you are looking for freeware. Some of the other BD authoring programs are a bit pricey. But you could look here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/authoring-bd-hd-dvd

It may help if you described your end goal. Full Blu-Ray authoring is pricey and not targeted to consumers.
