I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good short (say 2 day) courses which covers the average to expert level of knowledge for how video/image compression works, - in the uk, prefebly South East / London area.

I have fairly good understanding, - but have found courses to be less than adequate in the past for other subjects - teaching only the real basics (which could be obtained from reading wikipedia), so i was wondering if anyone in the UK have had any good courses which they felt they really learnt something new from.

I want to understand how the algorithms work, why they work and i want the detail to be at programming / implementation level.
