    1) I tried repeatedly removing/disconnecting the CD/DVR drive physically, but every time Windows start I get Event ID 7026 "The following boot-start or system-start drive(s) failed to load cdrom".

    2) I reconnected back the CD/DVR drive, went to device manager, select DO NOT use this device, select uninstall and yet every time Windows start, I still get this Event ID 7026 "The following boot-start or system-start drive(s) failed to load cdrom".

p/s in my Bios, I've AHCI and all booting are pointing to HDD drives only.

    Help.

    Thanks.Image

did you unplug both the data cable and the power cable? if yes make sure to boot into bios and then save the new settings before loading windows.
