take an exacto knife and carve the words "copyright 2000" near the core

THIS IS HARDCORE -
Break it in half and tape it back together, but don't use really good tape. Then when you give it to someone to play the tape comes off and half of the CD gets stuck in the CDrom. You could go that extra mile and smear a thin coat of petroleum jelly on the CD for further damage plus that person's hand would be sticky.

I am still trying to figure out how you guys even understood what he asked.
I have a headache now

hmmmm, you could put a green box with three big letters and a message threatening fines of up to $300,000 if the vcd is copied in the beginning of you vcd. Don't use the letters F,B and I though. They don't work for some reason. . .

I like the idea of laminating small pockets of deadly anthrax into the foil layer. The lamination should be thin enough so that if the disc spins at faster than ordinary "playback" speeds (ie: someone's copying the disc) the centrifugal force pops the bubbles of anthrax, killing anyone in the immediate area.

Become an expert programmer and come up with a copy protection signature that can't be cracked, unlike Safedisc et al.

Try making a copy, but not disc at once. I have had a problem before that I could play the VCD but not copy the VCD if it was burned track at once. Once I used disc at once, I could copy it. It doesnt happen all the time but try it, doesnt hurt to try now does it (except when you are a government experiment)?
Let me tell you a little bit about our Extended Warranty...

I've heard that VCD standards tells it MUST be DAO!

I heard that if you rub toothpaste on the back of the cd, dance around with it in ya backpocket for 6 hours and then carve a big pentagram into it, it will be totally impossible to make a copy of..
I heard the new Windows XP uses this form of protection, they actually hired 11million people to do this for 12 hours a day...

Well, when some idiot asks for help by calling everyone who might help a "smart ass" then asks how to copy-protect the most copyable format conceived, that person deserves the crap s/he gets.
These kind of posts are jokes. Surely you realize this. -
right on AntnyMD, how the hell could he ever expect a serious answer to that question?
aaaahhh.. ignorance is bliss.....

purple,
It doesn't appear to be so much an attack on gagi'z post; yet, rather poking some light fun at the request he/she made. One would hope he did not take take it personally. All of the users here take their craft/hobby of videography (for lack of a better term) seriously. Sometimes we got to let off a bit of steam by using a bit of humor in our replys. His grammatical structure, in english may have been off somewhat, but no one really swarmed him for it. Heck, i encounter some confusion whilst reading your post. I had to do a 2-pass vbr on it,myself. But, from time to time we all will get lazy and just write the basic idea or question down, and the majority of folks can decipher it and reply just fine.
However, my point is this:
1.)
we are very fortunate Baldrick, and all other moderators and members, donate their time and efforts to help everyone else out, and conquer the vcd battle. I know without them there would have been no chance for me to successfully archive precious home videos, and learn dvd backup techniques.
2.)
Where else could a person count on his/her peers to provide FREE tech support/advice on anything from dvd to dma to mp3 to 'what dvd player should i buy to do this, this and that'.
Try getting the same type of advice at compusa/future shop/sams/target/the sony store etc.
3.)
"It ain't gonna help one's situation any, when one calls everyone that can solve one's problem, "SmartAsses" in a derogatory, mono-syllabic tone and, with an uncouth connotation right off that start.
4.)
In other words, 'One shouldn't bite the hand thats feed him/her-self'
n.e.way
My 2¢ worth.

hey purplepoop,
read gagi's original question carefully. the last sentence reads:
<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote:</font><HR size=1 color=black></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>SO does anybody of you Smartasses knows to do this???????... </BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR size=1 color=black></TD></TR></TABLE>
