I am trying to re-author some DVD files ripped as the typical VOB and ISO, IFO etc layout. It's a straight-up copy of unprotected material, and it was "ripped" as straight-up DVD files of that type. The original DVD plays fine, and the files on the hard drive play fine.

However, for some reason, of the 3 titles, the final 2 will NOT work properly for any sort of editing. (The first one does fine.) If I try to add them as a source in TMPGEnc DVD Author, it says "audio existence differs from the present track." There have been a few other files which have given me this error in TMPGEnc DVD Author before, too, but I worked around-it by converting the individual VOB files (each one was a title) into AVI files using WinFF and then having DVD Flick (which can work with AVIs) do the authoring instead. However, that doesn't work here, WinFF gives me an error with converting these files of "seems stream 1 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 59.94 -> 29.97."

I am not a videographer, I have had experience with DVD authoring to some extent but it doesn't typically involve any fancy sort of playing around with frame-rates etc, or dealing with different CODECs, etc, so frankly I have no idea what's going on here and what sort of work it entails to work around. I just need to be able to use the DVD files straight-up in the DVD authoring program, nothing more.

I am not sure, but I don't think the DVD video files have more than 1 audio track. I know there are no subtitles or menus etc, they're just "straight and simple" DVD files, period.

    Tips?
