  1. I have a homemade DVD that someone put together as a tribute to someone in my family.

I'm trying to copy it and I'm having a real difficult time. I've tried all the tools I know of (AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, CloneDVD, Nero, etc...)

Looking at the files on the disk, I see that there are repeating chapters going from VTS_01_0 to VTS_99_1. They are all the same size. Below is what I'm seeing...

    VIDEO_TS.BUP 86KB
    VIDEO_TS.IFO 86KB
    VIDEO_TS.VOB 36KB

    VTS_01_0.BUP 18KB
    VTS_01_0.VOB 18KB
    VTS_01_1.VOB 992,482KB

    VTS_02_0.BUP 18KB
    VTS_02_0.VOB 18KB
    VTS_02_1.VOB 992,482KB

    VTS_03_0.BUP 18KB
    VTS_03_0.VOB 18KB
    VTS_03_1.VOB 992,482KB

    all the way up to...

    VTS_99_0.BUP 18KB
    VTS_99_0.VOB 18KB
    VTS_99_1.VOB 992,482KB

The video is only 18 minutes long. It'll play on any of the 992,482KB sized files, but as far as trying to rip or reauthor, each app reports various problems associated with reading the VOB.

It also plays on stand-alone DVD players, so it has been authored correctly, but with some sort of copy protection.

Does anyone out there know of a way to rip the video and reauthor it to a new DVD?

    Thanks

99? Is this a dvd slideshow?

It should be the same process. Do you have access to another computer with a dvd drive? Maybe that might help? Grasping at straws here.

Of course if you have a capture card you can always sacrifice a little quality and do a realtime dub. Than you can author your captured file.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

If I look at the properties of the video_ts folder, it says it's 93GB

Yes, it is a video slideshow. Is this what the problem is?

I am not sure. You could try searching "rip slideshow" and see what comes up. I've never had one to test. There might be something different about it that the normal programs don't like.

But as was mentioned earlier try a simple disc copy and see how it goes.
