My wife an I share a machine - separate XP user accounts. We log in and out when we are done using the machine - so the machine is always on - but when idle it sets at the user login screen.
Problem: how to get a video capture program to automatically record even when no user is logged in. This would be known as a service on NT systems. A service does not require a user to be logged in to execute (backup software is often installed as a service - because you want the backup to occur regardless of whether a user is logged in to the local machine). XP may use a different term, but the principle is the same - I want to know that if we set the machine to record from 8:00pm-9:00pm on channel 34 it will infact record no matter what user is logged in, or even if no user is logged in.
Thanks for any assistance.
Dustin
