Hi,
I have used MakeMKV to rip my blu-ray dvds to an external HDD with no problems at all.
The issue is that when I play these MKV files using my PC or laptop (on AC power), I have no issues wit playback.
When the laptop is on battery, then the playback is choppy and the sound is horrible and the movie becomes unwatchable.
Any idea why is that? I need to be able to watch these during long flights.
Thanks

My guess is that the CPU is stepping down to use less power and save battery life. Playing bluray quality video is very taxing on a system. It may also step down HD speed as well. Never heard of that happening but it cause problems as well.
Try using MPCHC so it uses (if possible) any onboard GPU. You could also go into the power config and keep everything at full power when on battery. Good luck getting through a whole movie though...Have a good one,
neomaine
