hi, does anybody have some experience about the AYI TV wonder HD 750 USB pvr ? because i just buyed it and it's been a nightmare to do video captures with is. it always drops frames or the sound is always out of synch when i playback the video file. i tryed with virtualdub, ulead video studio 8, inter video win dvr 3, virtualvcr, power producer, etc. nothing is doing the job except the software that came with the device (TotalMedia 3.5).

i really don't know what to do, except turn it back to the store to replace it by something else. Maybe my computer is not fast enough, i don't know.

here's some info about my computer:

    (don't worry it's a text file)

so, if anybody have a beter solution, please let me know.

    thanks to answer

I am wondering what device do you have ... never heard of a ath tv wonder hd 750 usb capture device.

Could it be your talking about a ATI TV Wonder HD 750 USB.

If you have what I think you have ... something that is small enuff to fit in your hand ... return it and buy a PCI card or PCI-E card version ... instead.

I use the ATI HDTV Wonder and the ATI HDTV Wonder 650 PCI and the PCI-E version and they work great with Windows Media Center.

yes, it' s the ati. i tried to correct the title but couldn't. also, i don't have windows media center and i don'y think i can add it. i just want to use virtualdub with it so i can make bigger captures than 720x480.

    thanks to answer

With my devices ... I can use Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 and Power Cinema 6 ... have you tried them ?

They do work but I prefer using the Media Center in WINXP or Windows 7

I don't have one, but I looked at the manufacturer's hardware specs and your computer appears to meet them. However, since the ATI 750 HD uses software encoding, a multi-core CPU would be better.

There is a known problem using your card with virtualdub. See http://www.virtualdub.org/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=305. The developer is working on it, but I don't know what success he has had in subsequent beta/experimental releases.

From what I've heard, the Arcsoft software is decent, considering the manufacturer provides it. Is it not capable of doing what you want it to do?

  6. Try disabling the audio re-sycn options in VirtualDub under Capture -> Timing... What video codec were you using with VirtualDub? Try HuffYUV.

As ... usually_quiet said ... the device you first mentioned ... since it doesn't have the chip included for hardware encoding ... you will have lots of sync problems.

Did you try using some of the Cyberlink programs ... PowerDirector 8 or PowerCinema 6 ??

Okay ... but what card did you get ... your post says a PCIE device ... okay that means ... PCI-E card.

Which would be a card with a only a small connection to plug into your mobo.

Good thing about these are ... I like them because a micro ATX mobo only has a couple of PCI slots and with a PCI-E 1X card you now have an option to put one of these in.

Only thing is ... the PCI-E slot is either located under the PCI-E X16 video card slot or above.

I have a ABIT mobo and the PCI-E slot is below the video card ... I have no access to it .. my video card is too big.

If it is a MSI mobo ... the PCI-E 1X slot is above ..... on the the MSI mobos I have. Which means I can use a PCI-E 1X card.
