  1. ok, i have a .ts file which by using MediaInfo i get these info:

    General
    Format : MPEG-TS
    ..

    Video
    Format : AVC
    Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
    Format version : Version 2
    Format profile : Main@L3.0
    Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames
    ..

    Audio
    Format : MPEG Audio
    Format version : Version 2
    Format profile : Layer 2
    Mode extension : Intensity Stereo
    Emphasis : 50/15ms
    Channel(s) : 1 channel
    Sampling rate : 24.0 KHz
    Video delay : -8h 37mn
    ..

the thing is i can easily play it with VLC media player (but with no other player), but i cant demux, convert or do anything else with the audio, and all the problem i have is i cant access its audio! i can extract the video, that's cool, but no audio! I've tried all the tools i could, but still nothing. Even by using MPEG2Repair, it doesnt find any audio PID. what should i do? i want to convert this TS file to a more usable file, like simple DVD MPEG2 file.

BTW, i found this file in an ALIDVR folder, if it helps.
    help me brains
    thnx

24KHz intensity stereo coding is unusual.

Try to find specialized demux tools.

I saw lots of references to "Intensity Stereo" in Google. Never used it or edited it myself.

  7. No i didn't. My boss recorded it, and now he wants me to convert it for him. AFAIK its not a common channel, its a channel from middle east or something. I can ask him if it helps.

    Please ask him if possible.
Audio could be even AAC or HE-AAC.

This makes a fantastic argument for NOT telling ANYONE you work with that you know anything about working with video.

Idiot boss records a f'ed up program and gives it you. Now you're begging strangers for help.

Divx Converter (free to use for about a week or so before you have to purchase) can work with all kinds of crappy input files. You might download it and see if it will encode to Divx (not MKV - be careful with the output settings) for you. If you get a usable Divx file, you could encode that to another format.
