i have been looking at these hard drives with a dvd drive that stores dvds without the need for a pc
and they soiund great i was wondering if anyone knew anything about them
are they as good as they seem
can i use them to record/pause live tv and so on
anyone?

If there is a hard drive built in then you should be able to pause and rewind live TV.
If it is strictly a DVD recorder with no drive then you will not be able to pause or rewind live TV.
It would probably be helpful if you could post the specific product(s) here that you are looking at.
Also, do you have cable, satellite, rooftop antenna.....?

The units with HDD are ok The HDD is a real + in recording and Edit etc.
Iuse older units but man users on this form do and would have info on them

I assume you mean a HDD

im not just looking at one product but they are made for tv hard drive so there is no need for a computer
i was also considering a deskbook for this same application but i dont really know much about DVD rip if i lose quality or......
also with the medis drive its 1TB dedicated memory which is always safe as no internet
what a conundrum lol
