  1. Hi,

I honestly wasn't sure where the best place was to post this--but if this isn't it, hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

I'm in the market for a DVD recorder; it's going to be used mainly to dub DVDs from PAL to NTSC (I have a region-free player it'll be connected to). What I can't figure out, though, is whether the recorder itself needs to be region-free (or whether such a thing even exists). I know that the recorder that I am replacing had to be switched between PAL and NTSC mode, depending on the signal coming from the player.

So, when shopping for a DVD recorder, can I buy any old recorder--or does it have to be somehow multi-region?

    Thanks!!

Multi region - region free only applies to playback. All recorded DVDs are region free.

  4. thanks, but my question is not about the physical dvd being burned--it's about whether the recorder will be able to read either PAL or NTSC input? is that a consideration?

    thanks!

    You're confusing some things.

Video formats and DVD regions are two separate concepts.
