o.k. i got a prob that im hoping someone can help me with

i bought a dvd-r copy of a certain film that was released on 4svcd's about jewelery and little hobbity types but i'm having greif with it

it plays on my pc sweet as a nut but wont play on either of my standalone's (phillips dvd711)

i've tried it on 2 other's and no go on theirs either

does anyone have any ideas what i can do to get it to the point where i can burn it and watch it on my dvd
