  1. Could someone point me in the right direction for fixing this. I'm trying to rip a DVD to an AVI file. I'm using the free DivX codec. It is set to quality '8'. I've tried increasing the bit speed and I've done two pass encoding. But nothing seems to help.

There's constant movement throughout the video. You can see how all the edges are jagged. The whole AVI is like this (the DVD itself is fine). I just don't know what option to use to fix this.

I'm new to this so don't know what other information you may need. If I've missed anything then just ask.

    Thanks for any help.

You must deinterlace. Most dvd converters should be able to do that.

But please give more information. What do you convert with? And I guess the DVD is from a home recorded dvd/camera?

  3. Thank you for your reply. I'm using DVDx v2.20. I can't see anything with the word 'deinterlace'. Maybe I need to use a different program?

    It's a commercial DVD.

    Thanks
