Seems I cant view a file on my PC so I need to convert it to something I can, as well as put on my Mvix player

    720p.bluray.x264.mkv
    Video: 1280x720 (720p) @ 5233K (23.976fps)
    Audio: DTS @ 1509K

This is PAL so I want to convert to AVI (XviD) with AC3 or MP3 192 @ 720x576

I have tried AVS2DVD but ran into issues.
First I tried Elementary MPEG2 Streams option. I got .m2v and .dts files. I loaded those into VirtualDubMod but way out of sync.
I then tried to convert the .dts audio file to AC3 and then did the same in VirtualDubMod and no audio ?
I then used AVS2DVD to do a regular DVD and while video was ok, audio was missing?

I just want to play my video

Have you tried vlc or mediaplayerclassichomecinema? Those would be my first options to play the original file.

Also you may not have a fast enough computer or strong enough video card. Ideally you should have at least a dual core processor for smooth high def playback. Or at least a video card that has hardware decoding for h264 video to lighten the load of the processor.

Edit - actually 23.976 is not pal. Pal is 25fps.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Not sure why i cant edit last post ...

    Anyway. I have a Sparkle GeForce FX 5200 / 256MB DDR / AGP 8x/4x / DVI / VGA / TV Out /
Not sure how to adjust settings that would allow HD of any sorts, but I would at least think 720p would play ...

But in the end I rather just convert the thing to make it all easier

    Let's do a dvd!

    Ok,here's the deal:
1.Load your mkv file in tsMuxerGui and demux video and audio[dts].Pay attention to bad frame nottifications...if too many leave the project 'cause you won't be able to convert it.
2.Convert dts to ac3 using DAudioK
    3.Load your original mkv file in ConvertXtoDvd 4[not free].Here is a tutorial:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoKhPGVz34E
4.In Settings/General define your working folder;in Dvd menu you can select if you want a menu[my advise-No menu...automatic start playback];you can use subtitles too...Leave the rest to default. In encoding tab you can select how big the new created dvd would be.....
5.Before hitting the Convert button, delete the dts stream and ad your new created ac3 stream...[you could leave the dts stream in place and let ConvertX to deal with it,but you could get an audio desinc in the end].
    5.Hitt Convert !
    Enjoy,M
P.S Feedback would be much apreciated!

Use latest AVStoDVD Alpha release. It has improvements in handling DTS tracks taken from BlueRay.
