    I tried different ways to convert with avidemux, VirtualDub, but the colors of avi(xvid) file are getting weird,

    someone could tell me why?

    I thought it might be my xvid codec.

    thx.

    Screenshot? Use mpchc, file->save image.

    Try also a mkvconvert, xmedia recode or mkv2avi.

  3. Make sure your frame size is at least mod 4 -- an integer multiple of 4. Multiples of 8 or 16 are even better.

    you mean the settings for the Xvid? or at source(mkv)?

  5. The frame size needs to be mod4 before feeding the video to Xvid. If the source isn't mod4 (or you cropped or resized to something that's not mod4) use the Crop or Resize filters to make it mod4.

    Yes:
    534 / 4 = 133.5
    133.5 is not an integer. Crop, add borders, or resize to 532 (mod 4), or 536 (mod 8), or 528 (mod 16).
