  2. i dont know if there can be a REAL answer to this.

The best has always 2 sides and in this case-
    Quality VS Quantity

Is the quality your main goal or is how many cds you have to use your main goal?

We always prefer quality but how much? Pure DVD? In that case, for cdrs, we would use tons of cds for just 1 movie!

I cannot really answer this because not to offend you but the way the topic worded, i do not know if there is a real true answer

There is no best template. Each conversion needs a special "template".

Open TMPGEnc and make your own template!

Honestly, everybody here has a different take on what they find acceptable quality. Some prefer their video sharp, some prefer their video blurred. Some find they are happy with standard resolutions, others feel they have to encode at DVD like resolutions and bitrates.

You've come to the right place so take some time out, learn to use Virtualdub and TMPGEnc (the guides on this site are a good place to start) download the TMPGEnc templates others have produced and encode little samples yourself and see what you like.

Then.. once you've made your perfect template, upload it to the site so we can all use it!

  6. well i already done the most of that (except publishing my own template...) and man i've made more than a hundred samples by now...but none of them seem to be really good... so i wandered if there was any template around that most of the users here like because it's just good as well in heavy motion scenes as in low motion scenes, and that would geve a good filesize (not to big, not to small) and that could teach me a little more about the encoding proces...

but maybe that's to much to ask for only one template...
