    I have a video which is mp4 and the audio is .aac but I cannot demux or open with any program
    Is their software that would demux the audio or convert aac to wav?

    You can't have tried too many programs, or the file must be completely fubar. I suspect the former.

    VLC - if it can play it, it can transcode it.
    Xvid4PSP
    Any Video Converter Free
    AVI Demux should be able to demux the audio, and the latest Audacity beta with ffmpeg should be able to load and convert the results

    Avanti (w/ffmpeg) will extract/convert the AAC audio fine. That's what I use.

    Thanks for the help Guns1inger and Calidore, but the programs that you mentioned seemed to have a problem with the audio
    But I was able to encode the audio with TMPGenc Xpress and it worked fine!
