I've just built a new kick-ass system and installed windows 7 64bit home premium. Anyone suggest a list of 64bit & hyperthread compliant software (encoders, authoring progs etc)?

Most modern video encoders are multithreaded. The ones that are available in 64 bit versions do not gain much from 64 bit. 64bit is more about addressing more memory, not speed. Video encoding generally does not require much memory.

Adobe Premiere CS5 will ONLY be 64 bit.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i". -
I found a great site that links to all things 64 bit http://www.start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=66&Itemid=146
