I see that some of the new USB 3.0 stuff is out. If I buy a USB 3.0 pci card will it be faster on all of my usb devices? Or will they have to be the new USB 3.0 also? I see they have some USB 3.0 flash drives but the 16gb is $400 wow. Is it even worth to have 3.0 USB? It is faster then eSata right?

I know some mobo's have the USB 3.0 but only some of the ports are USB 3.0 and the rest are USB 2.0.

No, Any high speed device or via pci card addon is restricted to max pci transfer rate

    USB 1.1 = 12 Mbps (1.5 MB/sec)
    USB 2.0 = 480 Mbps (60 MB/sec)
    USB 3.0 = 4.8 Gbps (600 MB/sec)

    PCI (32-bit 33 MHz) = 133 MB/sec
    PCI Express x1 = 250 MB/sec
    PCI Express x4 = 1000 MB/sec
    PCI Express 2.0 x1 = 500 MB/sec
    PCI Express 3.0 x1 = 1000 MB/sec

Of course the other bottle neck is the transfer rate of the actual device being connected

Yes, but in 6 months to a year that $400 will be a lot less.

USB 3.0 up to 4.8 Gbps
    eSata up to 6 Gb/s

Check those links. NEC engineers say the ceiling is more like 14.8 Gb/sec.! Looks like Intel, ASUS, etc. are slow to implement 3.0 though as only NEC has chipsets out. Means a longer wait for a new mobo that supports those speeds but that's okay by me.
