    Hello,

I see multiple streams which in my opinion are exactly the same in PgcEdit and in DVD Remake Pro. There are multiple VOB's (9 in total) which refer to 2 streams of 605 mb: the total size of the VOB's are 1210 mb. However, when I use TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 and importing VOB files (an advantage is that it creates VOB files, in contrary to newer versions which only give me MPG's) it gives me a file of about 591 mb. Does anyone know what happens here? How and why does that happen? I would expect one size of 605 mb and multiple references/pgc's. I checked for multiple audio streams but that is not true. These files are created with a digital video camera and written to DVD. Does TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 gives me a good file or is there an hidden other one?

    Thank you,

Yes there is (an automatically generated one by the digital video camera), there are in total 3 rectangles, two of them are filled with the same picture (as far as can judge in media player classic, each does have the same properties, like length, audio info, aspect ratio). The second rectangle/picture starts with Title: 02/06, compared to the first one: Title: 01/06, when in I click play.

BTW: I don't assume that the camera will capture two streams at the same time (or some oddities at conversion did happen).

I think you are referring to what are two common occurrence in DVD recorders.
    1) It looks as if there is a duplicate of everything....AND
    2) Difference in size readings between the two.

You shouldn't actually be able to see both of them. My guess is you don't see two in the camera?
Anyway.....what you are seeing is obviously not real. The difference between 591MB and 605MB is.....a menu.

I found out when playing the VOB-files, it is the video twice. At the half of the movie length (2,5 out of 5 vobs) it starts again thus there must be two identical streams of video. How this can happen I don't know but I think it has something to do with the DV camera of JVC (probably, I can't remember) I think and how it stores recorded video's.

I think I will just take one of them to put on DVD.
