I'm trying to rip a BR movie and import it into Final Cut Pro for editing. Most of the rippers I see rip to either MP4 or MKV using the H.264 standard. The problem is that FCP doesn't play well with H.264.
I've tried a couple pieces of software on both Windows (AnyDVD HD and RipBot264) and Mac (MakeMKV and PavTube). The problem is that any rip I make ultimately has a problem after converting it to ProRes 422, my choice for FCP. Problems such as: video/audio sync, stuttering video, incorrect frame rate, etc. I'm trying to keep everything at 23.976 (23.98) for editing purposes since this is the standard for BR.
So I'm wondering if anyone has a workflow for ripping and converting Blu-Ray to a format easily editable in FCP keeping the original frame size and rate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
