  1. For my sins I have been trying to record some of my guitar playing and singing direct onto a pc but always get an annoying sync problem with audio and video. When I record direct onto a digital camcorder and then transfer those files to the pc sync is ok but I would prefer to capture direct to pc because I can watch the framing etc on pc monitor (I'm a one man band!) also I dont have to worry about using too much memory.
My current set up is an amd 64 pc,new samsung digital camera with usb out lead, sometimes a old hitachi analogue camcorder and Easy cap usb video capture device ,using mainly virtual dub as capture programme
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just correct the sync in VirtualDub.
    AUDIO - INTERLEAVING
Bottom of that box - adjust + or - values until the audio matches...output as usual.

  3. Thanks for that advice.I have managed to adjust some older recordings I did.Has anybody any advice on what size a file should be for say 3 minutes of audio and video at 640x480.I have tried using xvid codec and lame acm compression but I am a complete novice.I might want to send it over the internet (youtube etc0

Out of VirtualDub I usually pic x264(no resizing of the video) with AC3 audio. Xvid with MP3 audio works out very well too.
