Years ago when I purchased my 1st DVD player I realised if I was playing a DVD, stopped it and powered off, when next powered on it resumed at the same spot (unless it was interrupted by a power outage).
The last DVD player I had purchased does not have this feature and if powered off and then back on it returns to the root menu.
I am trying to figure out the name of this feature and if is also available for Blu-ray players..

Everyone lies.
The innocent lie because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, and the guilty lie because they don't have any other choice. -
Some models have them, it's usually called "resume function" , but for blu-ray it can also be dependent on how the disc was authored
