  1. i have an avi file which the audio works fine on pc and when i converted it to mp4 for my iphone but when i try to watch it on my ps3 or convert it to dvd i get no audio??

    can anyone help??

    Make sure your converter program is re-encoding the audio to a format that is compatable with the PS3. Look at the audio compatability list in the specs of the iphone and the PS3 and chose a format that both can play.

  3. i use winavi to convert to dvd and it supports ac3 and mp2, i always use ac3 and it always work but ive never made a dvd and had no audio??

    im a noob wen it comes to audio

    van u explain it in simpler terms or a step by step or a guide of some sort

    I think winavi only allows MP2 for DVD audio. Try that and see what happens.

  5. nothin happened at all. not reconising that there is an audio stream, but i got a new copy of the film and works with sound. but i want to get the old one to work for future reffrence...

    An AVI file will play on the PS3, but only if it's encoded as a DivX.
    MP4 files must have the video encoded as AVC (h.264) and audio encoded as AAC (stereo).

    There are a couple of ways to do this, but if you have your PS3 on a network, you can stream the files from your PC/Laptop using a media server that will transcode the file as you play/watch it on the PS3.
