  1. In one of my bedrooms I have a SDTV connected to a Comcast DTA box. This 20 year old TV recently broke and I went out looking to replace it with a brand new SDTV. No luck, can't find one anywhere. So I was thinking of buying a 22" 1080p HDTV to replace it. I was wondering what the picture quality on the HDTV would like if I just use the co-ax connection with the DTA that I have setup now. I do NOT want to pay Comcast for another HD box. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer - thanks.

The picture will be fairly good if you get a have a good coax.

HD TV sets don't always display as 'good' a picture as a older CRT, which were much more forgiving with a crappy signal and tend to soften the picture a bit. But I wouldn't worry about that, just get the new TV and it will likely be fine. And you can usually do some 'fine tuning' adjustments and improve the viewing quality within the TV if needed. And when you upgrade to HD, it will be ready.

  4. NEVER use coax unless there's no other way. Doesn't the box have component, s-video or RCAs?

1080P at 22" is a waste of money, especially if you're not using a 1080p source. You'd have to sit with your face right in the screen to see a difference between 1080p and 720p at that size, even with a 1080p source.
