I've read a few threads, and the consensus seems to be that if you want a quick capture from Hi8 use a Sony DCR-TRV330 Camcorder.
If you want better quality though I understand I should use a dedicated Sony Hi8 deck like the Sony EV-S7000.
Problem is I'm in the UK and the machines available here like the Sony EV-C2000E don't say much about support for NTSC.
Does anyone have any info on whether the C2000E supports NTSC?

My experience (which was rather extensive) was that the higher end Digi8 camcorders like the TRV820 did a convincingly better job of capturing than the EV-S7000.

I noticed a change of motherboard and card also did a better job of capping than an old setup I had.
If you don't have too many tapes, a lab with a far superior setup would probably be best at achieving "perfect" captures...
