I want to convert my 700mb divx (avi) file into SVCD format so i can play it through my standalone dvd player. The only possible way to do this while keeping the quality is to use 2 80min CD-R's (first half of the movie on one cd and the other half on another). The question now is; what is the recommended method, for me to split the avi file into two 350mb segments and then encode it into mpeg2 OR to encode the whole 700mb avi file into mpeg2 format and then split it in half?
:-? My dilemma is I tried splitting the avi file in half using Virtual dub and planned on converting each half into mpeg2, but after watching 20 minutes of the 1st half I had freshly cut, the audio either became asynched or was just not present (mute sound). (the audio track from the original 700mb avi file is perfect and theres nothing wrong with it).
