  1. I try to encode a DV AVI source (file lenght is 11 GB) from my camcorder with CCE 2.64. CCE won't encode the file. There is no error message. Simply nothing happens. Then I try to do the same with LSX encoder 3.5, and there the progression bars show that something happens, but after the end of the encoding process, the mpg file is empty. I can encode the same source with TMPGEnc without any problem, but i'd like to use CCE for his encoding speed.
    I have a P4-1.8, 512M RAM and a 80GB HD running under WinXP .

    Can anyone help ?

If you had read the cce manual you had known, that cce does not accept DV type 1 files.

Many thanks for your answer. Do you know if I can then do the encoding with LSX? I've tried to do so, but I cannot see any image after encoding with LSX.
The progression bars in LSX show that something is happen but when I try to view the MPEG file, I have a blank screen.

I dont know whether LSX accept DV type1. However, you should look for a DV type converter and convert to type2, that both encoders will accept.
Also it is possible to frameserve with Avisynth to cce sp 2.50 or LSX with
    Code:
    DirectShowSource
Since TMPG accept both types, load it into TMPG and save the project, convert the project (.tpr) with VFAPIconv and load the fake avi into CCE SP 2.6x.

  5. Thanks TRUMAN for this great help. I'll try that. In the meantime, I've simply changed the priorities of the VFAPI plugins in TMPGENC (AVI VFW Compatibily reader has priority 2 now), and CCE now work. I don't know why this happen (I'm really a newbie) but I'm happy with it. If you have an explanation, I'll be curious to have it.

    Hi ORB,
The same thing happenned to me this week. CCE 2.64 was working perfectly, and one day it just stopped working. So I removed it and installed 2.62.

    Truman,
Sorry, but you are wrong. I encode AVI DV type 1 files with CCE all the time.

Yes, I was wrong. Version 2.62 and 2.64 accept DV type1. Now I am totally confused
I heard the 2.64 trial comes with time limit too. How long did the 2.64 trial work?

    Hi Truman,

I think you may be right about 2.64 having hidden time limit. It looks like I used it more than a month. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and it didn't help (probably registry keeps the track). Then I installed 2.64 on my another computer which didn't have it before, and it worked ok. So I put 2.62 back on my main machine.

    Regards.

  10. I am trying to use cce 2.62 to encode dv type 1 avi too (captured from my camcoder via firewire link). But I have the problem of the sizing, the almost first third of image(upper side) are blank.

How can I do the rezise with cce2.62 from dv type1 avi?

    Please help me...
