Have no experience joining video file, but have the general idea.

Researched some of the open source joiners & Movica came up a lot.
Downloaded it & installed. For new prgms, of course Kaspersky tells what it's trying to access on local drive or which IP address / server names trying to contact (if any).

Movica wanted to contact my ISPs address (& assume phone home) but also contact Google. Not sure what others it would've, because when I denied it contacting Google, Movica shut down. Several times.

If I denied it any outgoing UDP it also shut down.

I'm not used to most open source prgms off Source Forge doing this w/o permission, unless click update, or visit home page, etc.

Any feedback, explanation on this, or suggestions of other simple joiners for WMV?

    Thanks

I just tried movica 6.6 without any internect connection at all and it worked fine to join two wmvs.

You can also try asfbin or asfjoin(gui for asfbin...but may not work in vista though.)

  3. AsfJoin will join WMV just fine, it's small, simple and doesn't want to access anything online.

    Thanks.

Baldrick, I didn't try it w/ my internet connection disabled, so don't know. May work.
Still begs question, if DO have active connection, what's it doing dialing out & especially to Google?

MH2360, thanks - may look at asfjoin, but I am using Vista x64. Seen the name around for years.

Did send a question to Movica developer - no idea if / when will get reply.
