I have been using DVD Shrink to rip my DVD's so that I can store just the main film ready for streaming.
Is there anything else that would do this better, or is it still ok to us it just for this process. The quality is more important than size or any fancy bits.

If you aren't doing any shrinking you can still use it. If you are also shrinking you will probably get better quality using for example dvdrebuilder with hcenc.
And remember that dvdshrink wont work directly with all newer dvds. You can then run anydvd or rip with dvdfabdecrypter. -
