I recently download a movie in SVCD format. It spanned two discs via cue/bin files. I am trying to join the two AVSEQ01.mpg files together as one complete movie without reencoding so that I can archive it to DVD-R.
I have not had any luck  , here's what I've tried.
I used Daemon Tools and CDMage to copy the mpg files to my drive. If I try and do a straight copy from CD, I get an incorrect DOS function error as the file almost completes. I also get this error under Daemon Tools. CDMage appears to copy the whole mpg to my drive, but when it gets there, its unplayable using WinDVD. Any ideas why?
I have also tried to open either of the MPGs using the suggested cut/join programs in the Edit tutorials with no luck. They all recognize the file format as invalid. All I know is that it is a DVDRIP and in SVCD format. I am not sure of the encoder, perhaps its DIVX. Any way to examine the stream with a utility and tell?
Has anyone successfully taken two cue/bin format SVCDs, ripped the MPGs and joined them into one movie?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this :)
Oh yea, both SVCDs play fine using WinDVD directly. They also play in my Apex 3201 with no problem.
