Hi, I have two video clips, one of them has its contrast messed-up (see screen captures below). Is there a way to use the "good" one as template and change the "bad" one's attributes? I have tried various filters in Ulead VideoStudio with little success.
Thanks for your help!

It may be hard to restore the blown out brights -- but there is some possiblity. What type of files are you dealing with? I suggest you upload small video samples that haven't been reencoded.

Your question sounds like you're asking for neural networks, which won't help you restore brightened out details.

Some of the better video editors have a feature in their color correction modules which allow one to use an eyedropper to copy levels (color sat, hue, brightness, contrast, gamma, etc, maybe even white balance) from a good scene and drop it onto another scene so the two can be matched when editing. AVID Media Composer does this, also I think Sony Vegas. Anybody else for others?

BTW, the previous post about levels being already too blown out is all too true and would likely make it unusable for your purposes, even after correction. -
Thanks very much for the responses. I will give Vegas a try. I previously uninstalled that package from my PC due to their annoying proprietary plug-in's.
I understand the "bad" clip may be very well beyond any computational redemption, will just make this a science project to see how far can I go.
The original material is in mpeg2 format.
