how can I add "Fade in / Fade out" effect in my video clips

I need tool which can add "Fade in / Fade out" effect in my video clips
I'm already found this feature in Canopus ProCoder2 but this programm too expensive

It will be very good if this tool work from command line.
May be some filters for ffmpeg are exists?

my video in mpeg2 program stream and after apply the filter I want to convert video in mpeg2 transport stream

I have not yet studied in detail Avisinth, but can anybody tell to me, whether Avisinth can work with ffmpeg or only VirtualDub can understand Avisinth scripts?

Hi,
I think MinGW builds of ffmpeg with avisynth enabled can handle avisynth sources. I have used Avisynth to render fades to ffmpeg before, you just have to make sure it's a proper Windows build. Don't worry your English is much better than my Russian!

I know that MPEG Video Wizard DVD has fades (because I've used it) as well as many other effects, and is specifically designed to work on MPEGs.

I'm not that familiar with "MPEG2 transport stream", so not sure if the tool outputs to those or whether you'll have to ouput to something else and extract what you need.

Cheaper / earlier versions of the same tool are:

* MPEG-VCR - tools listing makes mention of MPEG2 transpoort streams for HDTV.
