This hopefully will make sense. I have an All-In-Wonder Radeon which captures TV beautifully. The problem is that I have it hooked up to the cable decoder box which means that I cannot use the scheduling app that comes with the board (channel always stays on 3, make sense?). So I figure I can't be the ONLY person to ever have this problem and I'm hoping that someone here will know of a way to schedule the recorder to go on and off without my attention even though its stuck on channel 3. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the All In Wonder Raedon Card Too. If you use ATI Multimedia Center you can just hit settings/scheduling and set it up to come on and off any time you want and just have it stay on channel 3. Of course you will have to set the channel on the box yourself.
I hope I didn't misunderstand your question here. If you were trying to set the recording using the Guide + feature it might be difficult in the situation you describe so I assume that is what you were doing.
I have great success copying at the VCD settings for everyday recordings. They come out small and look good.
