can someone please help my dvd burner want burn

i just installed my que dvdburner the other day and i use three different programs to try and burn video ts files and it just stops responding when i hit burn can anyone solve this problem for me
also i have a dvd rom in my pc does that have any thing to do with it

1) system
2) operating system
3) how much ram?
4) HD size?
5) programs to burn (which ones are you using?)
6) ONLY NERO supports burning straight vob and ts files. ALL others must be authored through their programs
