  1. I have many divxs that r widescreen & I want 2 see them that way when I watch them on my dvd player. Should I use 4:3 NTSC or 16:9 NTSC(In the setings of TMPGEnc)? Does anyone know what setting I should use?

  4. why you donīt choose the 16:9 setting (not 4:3)
with this setting you will keep the widescreen

  5. Choose 4:3. this way you can keep the aspect widescreen ratio of your movie.
Dont choose 16:9 as vcd doesnt support that!

At the "source aspect ratio" choose 1:1 VGA

Ofcourse if you watche the movies on a regular 4:3 tv you will get the black bars at the top and bottom, but if you have a widescreen tv i should automatically zoom the picture..

  6. I have some movies that are 640x372 or something like that. In TMPGenc load up the vcd template you want to use, then load the unlock template. Under the Advanced tab, set the Video Arrange Method to custom size. Set the size to 352x[height of source]. This should work as long as the height is smaller than 240. Set the source aspect ratio to 16:9. If your video is over 352x240 try making an SVCD. In this case set the Video Arrange Method to 480xXXX. My 640x372 source gets set to 480x372. Set the aspect ratio to 16:9. Under the Video tab, you would set the Aspect ratio to 16:9, as well. This would make your video looked stretched while encoding, but it will play fine on your DVD player. It's like anamorphic dvd's that get streteched when played on 4:3 TV's. Good luck, and just experiment.

  7. Just reread my post and saw I potential mistake. When making a VCD try setting the source aspect ratio to VGA 1:1.

  9. Use the 4:3 if your TV is the stanard 4:3. If you have widescreen TV, then use 16:9, and 1:1 from source. I promise you this will work. I've done more of these than I can count, my TV is 4:3 and they work just fine. They have the bars on top and bottom.

  10. When u say it will have the bars on top & bottom do u mean that it will be widescreen were none of the picture is cut off or just 4:3 with bars?
