  1. I added a wave file to mkv using "add" then giving it a "track name".

    Then I muxed.

When I open my file and select the audio using the green arrow in my system tray it tells me:

a decoder for the new track could not be found
    Track type: PCM, 48000Hz, 2ch
This is just a wave file I extracted from another video. Whats going on?

You need to let us know what program you're using first.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

What are you using to play the video? Have you tried converting the audio stream to, say, MP3 format (or even AAC), muxing that into the MKV, and seeing if that works?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

  5. It was MKVmerge giving me the error before it even starting muxing.

But anyway, I ended up converting it to ac3 and it took it.... Weird how it cant accept the most basic of audio files that have been around for over a decade :\ Instead you are forced to encode it into a lossy codec before the muxing.

    But anyway its working now.
