New to the forum and to streaming altogether. I built a low-budget pc specifically for streaming about a month ago. I did this because I have an old rear projection TV that I'm not ready to toss out yet. It doesn't have any digital inputs, so I needed a video card that could output analog component (1080i). The video card I used as the basis for the build was an EVGA 9500GT.

For the most part, the video is outstanding except for when the entire picture moves horizontally (mostly using hulu via firefox, also netflix). When this happens, it seems as though picture is out of sync for a split second. It's like the top (or bottom) portion of the screen is shifted. This happens very quickly, so it seems to happen in quick flashes. Then once the horizontal shift stops the flickers stop.

I've put a couple avi's through the vlc player without any issues. The details of my system are in my profile. The techs at EVGA didn't have a clue, so I need someone with some real knowledge to help me zero in on the culprit. Thanks for any help.

  2. This "tearing" is a normal phenomenon of online adobe flash videos; if you search , it's been discussed here and at other forums. There is nothing wrong with your hardware
