    Hello, I am looking for a mid-ranged priced router, that has everything I need for online gaming. At the moment I have a "Thomson SpeedTouch 585 v6" router, my connection on my PS3 is usually great at 3 or 4 green bars and my house is pretty small so my ps3 is near the router. At the moment we do have a few devices we connect to the router such as PC, XBOX 360, PSP, PS3 and Laptop. The reason I want to get a new router is so I can configure more stuff as I feel the router I have at the moment is restricting me from using DMZ or forwarding ports.

    I have found this router which I think is great, does anybody have any other suggestions please?:

    Is D-Link a HQ brand such as Netgear?

    Wireless = poop.
    My PS3 connection was crap with my Linksys WRT54G via wireless. Hooked it up with the CAT5e instead and it kicks ass.
    Same for the 360.
    Too bad the Wii only supports wireless...
    (Location of my systems & router + construction of my house may definitely be a factor though)

    I have a netgear rangemax WPN824. It is a 108 super g wifi router. Has four lan ports on it. It doesn't have an external attenna nor an adapter port to add one. But its supposed to have multiple internal antennas. It has good signal strength between floors.

    I bought this last year. Whatever the newest rangemax model is would be a good place to start.

    I had a dlink before that served me well but I needed more power and the rangemax did the trick.

    I would suggest you buy a wireless-n router like this one. The reason i would get a wireless-n is because eventually it will the standard as opposed to wireless-g. You may not have any wireless-n devices now but if you do decide to buy one or maybe you just decide you need more range you don't have to buy a new router. As far as quality, D-link may not have the rep of Linksys but they are considered to be very good routers. Do a search for reviews on it, the few i that i browsed through say it's a very good router, not perfect, but still good.

    Yeah, but what's the point? Broadband over USB is a joke. Might as well just stick with the wireless. Nintendo also makes one of those adapters.

    I just checked out the Netgrear WNR2000, I read a few reviews and someone submitted "Does not support Nat Loopback with port forwarding/DMZ. ie internal devices won't have ports forwarded to the correct host, but instead will try to access the router on that port. Manually editting the hosts file is not a solution for wireless devices that may leave the network" and I really wanted to get that router, I need it to be able to play COD4 and WAW on PS3.

    Is this true? Can I configure it to use dmz? Will it work?

    Also, are external atenas better then internal?
