I noticed I intermittently get kicked off wireless network. This just started happening recently. I have a Netgear g router on the first floor. I get kicked off when I am upstairs. I don't have a huge house. So I thought it might have been the modem, but it was replaced. Now I get kicked off, so it must be the Netgear. I've only had this g router for 2 years. The range on n routers are supposedly better and can penetrate walls better. Can anyone verify this?
What is the difference between n routers and n routers with gigabit? I don't understand the difference. I only get 20 Mbps download speeds. Some n routers claim Up to 150 Mbps data transfer rates while others claim Up to 300 Mbps data transfer rates. Does that even matter when I am only limited to 20 Mbps download speeds?
I've seen n router dual bands, but they are expensive and I'm not familiar enough with the technology to make a decision to spend extra for that.
