    Hi all,

I had a hard disk failure and replaced my hard drive a few weeks ago and installed Windows 7 Enterprise again. Ever since then, I'm unable to render videos properly on Corel VideoStudio. I tried all versions of the program including X2 which I used prior to the hard disk failure. I'm exporting using the same settings 'save as first video clip' as I'm just cutting the video here and there. What happens is the sound gets delayed and all sorts of distortions occur on the video, including green screens when I import on After Effects. I'm not sure what is the problem. I installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and installed Direct X. Should I reinstall my graphics card driver?

    Appreciate your assistance.

Install the latest driver for your GFX, but don't expect it to fix the problem.

Have you installed any codec packs ?

What are you testing playback in ?

What formats are you working with ?

Haven't installed anything extra. But I think when I installed the trial for VideoStudio X3 it installed SoundTrack Pro and Quicktime which I removed just now.

I tested playback on both VideoStudio, and AfterEffects.

Only using mpeg (2 i think). I take the mpeg, cut and save as first video clip.

Just realized that the distortions with the sound and video only happen after 15 minutes of the video. I tried some old videos which I edited before the reformat and the same things occur.

Did you install manufacturers chipset drivers etc, or just go with the ones Windows 7 installed ? If you haven't, go and install the correct chipset and peripheral drivers.

Seems to work fine on the old versions now. I reinstalled the HD sound driver. Thanks guns1inger for all your help.

Problem has arisen again after I unknowingly installed VideoStudio x4. Tried reinstalling drivers, same issue. The audio gets delayed and freezes with the video. Only occurs with smart rendering. Didn't happen before, until I installed the dumb x4.
